Calculation of Insulation Thickness Depending on The Coolest and Hottest Climate Conditions for Different Flat Roof Types of Buildings

In this study, optimum insulation thicknesses are calculated for three different flat-surfaces which navigable terrace roof; stone-covered and soil-covered un-navigable flat roof types. The outdoor temperature, the value of January, is coldest month in winter, July, hottest summer, solar radiation, considered together. Flat surfaces to be black painted marble. Firstly, solar-air temperatures were determined winter summer periods. Then, thickness calculations made using life cycle total cost analysis. Extruded polystyrene (XPS) accepted as material. Natural gas used electricity an energy sources. have been five climate zones types based on TS 825. Then results compared. As a result, considering months year was 0.128 m 5th zone one with highest value, lowest 0.052 1st three.
